Today is not only the birth of the great Indian leader Mahatma Gandhi, but it’s also rightfully observed as World Farm Animals Day, and the teaching of non-violence towards ALL living-beings. Gandhi provided inspiration for animal activists worldwide to protest the cruelty melted out to animals, specifically raised in farms for human consumption. However much we obfuscate, or ignore it, we all know deep down that it’s inhumane, but our response to it is ultimately a test of how we respond to the powerless, and voiceless.Today is the perfect opportunity to raise awareness, while exposing the needless suffering, but it’s also a day to celebrate the lives of these amazing animals, and to recognize them as one.
